Martin Quarter Horses

AQHA  50 Yr Legends Award Recipients
Bayfield, Colorado

Visit beautiful pastures in Colorado with well bred colorful AQHa quarter horses. Family owned and operated for 50 years.  Come in,  sit down, grab a cup of coffee and we would love to talk horses with you.

Our program's goal has always been to breed for stylish, eye-catching horses with both disposition and ability.
We use close-up foundation bloodlines inlcuding Poco Bueno, Jessie James, Leo, Mr San Peppy, Gray Badger,
and Otoe. While our foals are often colorful including grulla, buckskin, dun and  palomino,  our primary goal is to breed for the overall horse. About 10 years ago, we added lines of Hancock/Driftwood breeding, and are pleased to be producing blue roan foals with good heads, refinement, ability and disposition.

Our horses are cowy, gentle and even tempered.  They have gone on to excel on the ranch and in the arena.
They are being used in roping, cutting, shows and on ranches.
Our foals are raised in pastures in rocky Colorado so they know where to look and place their feet.
They can work the ranch during the week and show on the weekend.

Buy your next foal as a weanling and raise him as you want. Foals will be on the ground in May, June and July.
Pick out your next champion's foundation breeding.

Call or email as we are always willing to talk horses and would love to help you pick out your next prospect.

I have personally purchased a gorgeous blue roan filly from Martin Quarter Horses. She has been one of the easiest horses to train. She is very intelligent and she picks up on things very quickly. Within the third ride, she was riding down the road.
